GUWAHATI WORKSHOP

Just a couple of days after I finalised my trip to the North-East with my friends, someone from the Guwahati club got in touch with me with the idea of conducting a class there. The perfect timings was a sign compelling enough for me to get on board for it immediately. I was super excited to conduct a workshop in a city as beautiful as Guwahati but I knew that making all the arrangements in a new city wouldn't be easy. Luckily for me, the lady who got in touch with me took it on herself to make all the arrangements. After a couple of weeks of planning and coordination, everything was ready- the venue, which was the very pretty Guwahati club, the 20 amazing participants, the ingredients and the recipe cards! So exciting!

The menu-

  • two layer chocolate cake with pistachio pastry cream and chocolate ganache
  • peach and mango crisp
  • rustic lemon, almond and cherry tart
  • cinnamon-sugar churros

The demonstration was definitely the most interactive one I've ever had, with the participants taking keen interest in the procedure. Really interesting questions were asked, which were followed by exciting discussions where everyone participated. What a fun session!
The first dessert to be served to the participants was the mango and peach crisp. Everyone loved the warm crisp that was served to them with  a large scoop of vanilla ice-cream. My favourite part of the workshop was when all the ladies came up and piped churros. Who wouldn't love a fun churro party, where everyone is making churros, covering them in cinnamon-sugar, dunking them in a delicious chocolate sauce and gorging on them. At the end of the three hour session, there were 20 happy faces who took back a few tips and tricks and a lot of passion for baking. And me? I brought back loads of memories of an experience that I'll always remember. Thank you Guwahati, you were wonderful!

Happy participants, the best part about any workshop.
