Last month I announced my association with 24 Mantra Organic in our initiative to introduce to you how wonderful organic ingredients could be. I introduced organic products into my kitchen two months ago and I'm more than happy! I'll be honest, I was sceptical in the beginning but now I look at it as something I should have done long back.
Over these months, I've used a number of organic ingredients- flour, sugar, tea, peanut butter, honey, jam, almonds, among others and made desserts with all of them. Cakes, cookies, frosting, donuts- I made them all with organic ingredients and couldn't be happier with the results. Two most interesting ingredients were the peanut butter and the organic strawberry jam. I hardly ever use market bought jam because of all the preservatives and artificial substances that go in them. Where is my fruit? But when I used the organic strawberry jam to make my donuts, I was pleasantly surprised! You can make out the difference between the real stuff and the artificial stuff. I loved it so much that I went on to make thumb print cookies using it. The recipe is absolutely perfect for Christmas and you should totally make them this season.
Another highlight of the month has been that my organic shortbread cookie sandwiches got featured as one of the best short-bread recipe on The FeedFeed. Everyone seems to love peanut butter filled cookie sandwiches. They're so simple to make and so yum! I totally recommend adding this recipe to your Christmas baking list. What's better? They're making organic whole wheat flour and not all-purpose flour, so they're comparatively healthier as well!
For the next month, I'm planning to work on a lot of organic-festive recipes. I'm planning to make indulgent desserts ( hey, its Christmas month!) but the organic Multi-grain flour from 24 Mantra Organic has been on my "to use list" so you might see a healthy dessert as well. I can't wait to get into the kitchen and share great ideas and recipes with y'all. Stay tuned!
